The 3rd Danube Region Social Innovation Summit to Be Held in Sarajevo in a Hybrid Format

On 21 April 2026, Sarajevo will host the 3rd Danube Region Social Innovation Summit — the final concluding event dedicated to the development of social innovation and the transformation of care systems across the Danube Region. The event will take place from 10:00 to 13:15 CET in a hybrid format, allowing participants to join online via Zoom or in person in Sarajevo.

The summit will bring together project partners, institutional representatives, practitioners, researchers, and other stakeholders to discuss the outcomes of the initiative and the future development of innovative approaches in the field of care in the Danube Region. According to the organizers, the summit will serve as a platform for reflecting on the project’s key achievements and shaping a vision for future solutions in this area.

The event is included in the list of official activities of the Danube Region Programme and is featured on the Caring Communities project page, confirming its status as one of the concluding thematic forums within the framework of regional cooperation.

The Institute of Danube Research firmly believes that the organization of such a summit reflects the growing attention paid in the Danube Region to social innovation as an instrument for responding to demographic, institutional, and service-related challenges.

We are convinced that, for Ukrainian institutions, participation in such platforms is of particular importance given the need to adapt European care practices, strengthen cross-sectoral partnership, and introduce new models of social support for communities in the context of post-crisis recovery.
